The creator of the Internet-WWW asks journalists to rely on sources

WWW creator received a grant to the task of finding information on the origin and sources of information online, writes InformationWeek. Tim Berners-Lee suggests a system that would allow sponsors to add information about the sources of their materials in a unified format.

In addition, the system will indicate whether the article was based on personal observation, interviewing witnesses, documents. This will help search engines determine the credibility of this information.

Funds amounting to 350 thousand dollars Tim Berners-Lee received the prize in the Knight News Challenge, along with fifteen other winners. The total prize fund of 5.5 million dollars.

Other projects include the use of public-funded Network for investigative journalism, creating programs that make computers on the radio, blog, which allows to calculate their needs for natural resources and delivery of news via SMS to budgetary mobiles in developed countries.

Knight News Challenge Award is awarded for the second consecutive year. This time their projects submitted for consideration to three thousand participants.
