Users for the introduction of a "code of blogger"

Nearly half of Internet users supports the idea that to introduce a voluntary code for bloggers and Internet commentators, a new study shows

The survey, conducted by law firm DLA Piper, shows that 46% of users believed: bloggers should sign a code of conduct, which refers rules of libel laws, intellectual property and incitement. 15% of respondents did not determine whether you need it, while 4% were strongly opposed.

Among the bloggers themselves 34% against the draft, while 32% supported it.

Three-quarters of Internet users who ever left comments on blogs and news sites, not thought about the law on libel, the report says. In doing so, it is people who leave comments rather than the site owner, would be liable in case of violation.

As this study shows, are dangerous not only our own notes, but more harmless content - for example, video clips, photographs and comments on sites on the exchange of information from the media.

Two thirds of those surveyed users can not read the conditions of use sites that are visited. 14% have been confronted with the fact that their material removed from the site for violating these conditions.

Duncan Kelou, DLA Piper specialist on electronic media, said that there is a dangerous impression that the information in Husqvarna network users, is not subject to the law.

"The combination of confusion and complacency with regard to relations law and to spread information, may pose a risk to users if the network they will be taken more closely," - explains Kelou.

"Of course, many users would benefit if there will be more clear rules about posting comments online," - he was confident.

According to Kelou should know about the difference between censorship and protection. This code of conduct will not change the law, but it helps bloggers and users learn more about how they evaluated placed in the network information from a legal point of view.
